Content cannot rank on a site search engines struggle to crawl. Technical SEO is the unglamorous half that decides whether everything else pays off.
1. Crawlability and indexation
- A clean XML sitemap, submitted in Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools.
- No accidental
noindex, no blocked assets in robots.txt. - Canonical tags on every page so duplicates do not compete with each other.
2. Core Web Vitals and speed
Compressed and correctly sized images, lazy loading below the fold, fewer render-blocking scripts, and stable layouts so nothing jumps while loading. Speed is both a ranking input and a conversion input.
3. Structured data
Organisation, WebPage, Article, FAQ, Product and LocalBusiness schema where it genuinely applies. This is what earns rich results and what AI systems read when they summarise your business.
4. Metadata and headings
One H1 per page, a unique title under 60 characters with the target keyword, and a description under 160 characters written to be clicked, not stuffed.
5. Internal linking
Keyword anchor text from supporting articles into the pages that make money. "Learn more" is a wasted link.
6. Monitoring
Rank tracking, Search Console coverage alerts and a monthly review — because sites break quietly after redesigns and plugin updates.
We run this checklist continuously on every SEO plan.
