Joining a network does nothing. Working it for twenty minutes a week does. Here's the routine that produces referrals inside a MAZ Community city Chapter.
1. Make your profile do the selling
A real photo, your role, your company and the one sentence describing exactly who you help. Members skim — vague profiles get skipped.
2. Post the "ask" specifically
"Looking for referrals" gets nothing. "I'm looking for homeowners in the north suburbs planning a kitchen remodel this quarter" gets a name.
3. Give before you ask
Send one useful introduction per week to another member. Reciprocity is the entire engine of a local group.
4. Use direct messages properly
Messaging is limited to members in your city, so a message is never cold spam. Open with context: where you saw them, what you noticed, what you'd send their way.
5. Close the loop publicly
When a referral converts, say so in the feed and tag who sent it. Nothing drives more activity in a Chapter than visible wins.
